A density meter is a scientific or industrial instrument used to measure the density (ρ = m/v) or specific gravity of liquids, gases, or solids. 

How It Works

• Oscillating U-Tube Principle: Most modern digital meters use a hollow glass U-tube that vibrates at its natural resonant frequency. Adding a heavier sample changes the mass and shifts the vibration frequency to calculate exact density.
• Alternative Methods: Traditional or specialized tools include hydrometers (relying on buoyancy) and pycnometers (glass volume flasks).
