Sodium Molybdate 39.5% 25kg
Sodium Molybdate 39.5% (typically \(Na_2MoO_4 \cdot 2H_2O\)) is a high-purity, fully water-soluble compound used primarily as a concentrated molybdenum fertiliser to correct deficiencies in plants and as a corrosion inhibitor in industrial systems.
Sodium Molybdate 39.5% 25kg
The “39.5%” refers to the minimum concentration of elemental molybdenum (Mo).

Key Uses & Applications
Agricultural Fertiliser: It is highly effective for treating molybdenum deficiencies, particularly on acid soils. It is crucial for Nitrogen-fixing bacteria in legumes (lentils, beans, alfalfa, peanuts, clover) and is used on cruciferous crops (broccoli, cauliflower) to prevent “whiptail”.
Method of Application:Seed Dressing/Treatment: Applied to seeds before planting (e.g., maize, sunflowers).
Foliar Spray: Sprayed directly onto leaves to address deficiencies in crops and pastures.F
Fertigation: Applied directly into hydroponic systems or via irrigation due to its high water solubility.
Industrial Corrosion Inhibitor: Used to protect ferrous metals, copper, and aluminium in water treatment, closed-loop cooling systems, metalworking fluids, and engine coolants. It works as a non-oxidizing anodic inhibitor that creates a protective film on metal surfaces.
Metal Finishing & Manufacturing: Employed in metal treating and finishing, such as in galvanising, to improve corrosion resistance.
Other Potential Applications: Used in the production of pigments and lubricants, and as a catalyst.Benefits of 39.5% concentration
High Solubility: Ensures easy integration into liquid fertilisers and quick uptake by plants.
Reduced Dosage: Compared to alternatives like sodium nitrate, lower concentrations (50–100 ppm) of sodium molybdate provide superior corrosion protection, minimising conductivity in water systems.Application RecommendationsIt is advised to consult a qualified agronomist and conduct leaf analysis before application.Over-application should be avoided as it can cause copper deficiencies in livestock. It is often applied at rates of 125-250 g/ha for crops such as lucerne.
