BERMOCOLL EBM 8000 is a non-ionic, water-soluble ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose ether primarily used as a thickener, stabiliser, and rheology modifier in water-based latex paints and coatings.

Primary Industrial Uses

Building & Infrastructure: It is used in cement- and gypsum-based systems like joint compounds, putties, and distempers. It helps control water retention and workability, extending the “open time” for contractors to finish the surface.
Cosmetics & Personal Care: It acts as a thickening agent for the aqueous phase in products such as shampoos, body washes, shower gels, and crystal-clear gel formulations.

Enzyme Resistance: Unlike many natural thickeners, EBM 8000 is engineered to resist enzymatic degradation, which prevents the product from “thinning out” or losing viscosity over time while sitting on a shelf.
