Main Uses
Measuring Original Gravity (OG): Taken before adding yeast to record the starting sugar level and calculate potential alcohol.
Tracking Fermentation: Monitors declining density to see if yeast is actively consuming sugar.
Determining Final Gravity (FG): Confirms when fermentation has stopped by getting a stable reading over consecutive days.
