Methanol Technical Grade 25L
Technical grade methanol’s primary uses include chemical synthesis (for formaldehyde, acetic acid, and MTBE), as a solvent in paints, adhesives, and inks, as a fuel and fuel additive, and as an antifreeze in automotive and industrial applications. It is also used in producing other chemicals like plastics, pharmaceuticals, and biodiesel
Chemical synthesis
Precursor for other chemicals: Methanol is a key ingredient in the production of formaldehyde, acetic acid, and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE). These chemicals are then used to make a wide range of products, such as plastics, resins, and adhesives
Biodiesel production: It is used in the transesterification reaction to create biodiesel.

Solvent and industrial applications
General solvent: Methanol is a versatile solvent in the manufacturing of paints, coatings, varnishes, and inks.
Cleaning agent: It is used in some industrial cleaning solutions.
Pharmaceuticals: It serves as a solvent and reagent in the synthesis and extraction processes for pharmaceuticals like vitamins and hormones.
Laboratory use: It is used as a destaining agent in gel electrophoresis.
Fuel and energy
Fuel additive: It can be blended with gasoline to increase its octane value.
Alternative fuel: It is used as a clean-burning fuel in various applications, such as cars, trucks, and power generation.
Antifreeze and de-icing
Antifreeze: Methanol is a key component in antifreeze solutions because of its ability to lower the freezing point of water.
De-icing: It is used in automotive de-icers and is injected into natural gas pipelines to prevent water from freezing.
