Measured and Calculated Parameters
The HI98199 can measure up to 10 different water quality parameters, some directly via sensors and others by calculation.
pH: Measures the acidity or alkalinity of the water.
Electrical Conductivity (EC): Measures the ability of water to conduct an electrical current, an indicator of the concentration of dissolved ions.
Dissolved Oxygen (DO): Measures the amount of free, non-compound oxygen present in the water, essential for aquatic life and waste treatment processes.
Temperature: The meter’s built-in temperature sensor automatically compensates the other readings for accurate results.
Atmospheric Pressure: A built-in pressure transducer is used for automatic compensation when measuring dissolved oxygen.
Total Dissolved Solids (TDS): Calculated from the EC measurement to provide an estimate of the total concentration of dissolved substances.

The HI98199 is a rugged, portable multiparameter meter with a single digital probe input.
The digital probe input allows the connection of either a pH, conductivity or dissolved oxygen probe.
Between the three probes and a built-in barometric pressure transducer the HI98199 can measure up to 10 water quality parameters with 5 being measured by sensors and the other 5 by calculation (i.e. EC to TDS).
