How it Works (with HEPA Filter)
Inward Airflow: Creates a protective barrier at the front opening to keep contaminants out.
Vertical Downflow: HEPA-filtered air flows vertically down into the work zone, protecting samples.
Recirculation & Exhaust: About 70% of air is recirculated through the supply HEPA filter, while the remaining 30-40% is exhausted through a second HEPA filter, protecting the room and environment.
What NOT to Use It For
Volatile Toxic Chemicals: The exhaust air must not be recirculated into the lab if volatile chemicals are used; it must be ducted outside.
Flammable Materials: Open flames disrupt airflow and pose fire risks.
Highly Toxic Agents: For agents requiring total containment, a Class II Type B2 cabinet or fume hood might be needed.
