Benzene AR 2.5L

(Analytical Reagent) in a 2.5L container is a high-purity chemical used primarily in laboratories and chemical manufacturing.

Benzene AR 2.5L
Primary Uses

• Laboratory Solvent: Acts as a high-purity solvent for analytical chemistry, extractions, and the dissolution of organic compounds.
• Chemical Reagent & Intermediate: Serves as a starting material or reaction medium in organic synthesis, such as:
• Formation of phenyl acetate via aerobic oxidation using a palladium (Pd) catalyst and acetic acid.
• Formation of phenol through hydroxylation with mesoporous carbon nitride and vanadium catalysts.
• Preparation of gallium nitride (GaN) nanoparticles by reacting Li₃N and GaCl₃ at 280°C.

Safety & Handling

• High Flammability: Easily ignites and releases flammable vapors. Loba Chemie
• Health Hazards: Classified as toxic, an irritant to skin and eyes, and a known carcinogen linked to serious organ damage and genetic defects. Chemical Plus +1
• Precautions: Must be handled inside a certified fume hood with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection.

enzene is a naturally occurring aromatic hydrocarbon produced by volcanic activity and forest fires, and found in plants and animals. Industrially, it is mainly derived from coal tar and petroleum. Benzene is a colorless liquid with a gasoline-like odor, known for its toxicity and carcinogenicity. It is widely used in producing polymers like polystyrene, as well as chemicals, plastics, detergents, and pesticides.
