Ammonium Molybdate Tetrahydrate (Analytical Reagent grade) is primarily used in analytical chemistry to detect and quantify ions like phosphates, silicates, and lead.

It is also widely used as an industrial catalyst precursor and an agricultural micronutrient.

1. Analytical ChemistryPhosphate Testing: The most common use is detecting phosphate ions (\(PO_{4}^{3-}\)).
– When mixed with a sample in an acidic environment, it forms a yellow phosphomolybdate complex.
– This is widely used in environmental testing for soil and water quality.
– Silicate and Arsenate Analysis: Similar to phosphates, it forms colored complexes with silicates and arsenates, making it useful in geological and material testing.

2. Industrial & Chemical Manufacturing
